This variety comes from New Zealand, where it was selected after the crossbreeding of the famous Golden Delicious and local Kidd’s Orange Red varieties.

The Royal Gala apple is round in shape with a slight ribbing on the top. It has an average size with a weight of up to 150 grams. The white flesh (can be sometimes a bit yellow) is crispy and juicy under a thin, dark red-orange skin.

Royal Gala have a quintessential apple flavor. It is sweet, succulent and pear-like. Therefore, an excellent all-around apple choice.

This variety is quite fruitful. The apple harvesting starts in the second half of September and they are ready to be eaten in November.

These apples are good to eat when fresh. However, this variety will be an awesome choice for drinks, children’s food and bakery.
